On March 18, the 2026 SANY Pumping Equipment New Product Launch Conference, themed “Smart Electric Innovation: Embarking on a New Journey,” was held in Changsha. At the event, the world’s first smart hybrid concrete pump truck was officially unveiled. Equipped with a YUCHAI YCY25-100kW flywheel range-extender system, this machine marks a new phase in the electrification of concrete pump trucks.

Designed to address core customer needs, this smart hybrid concrete pump integrates “intelligent powertrain + range-extended hybrid” technology, effectively resolving the challenges of range and power in electric construction machinery and providing a new solution for the industry’s green and low-carbon transition.

In terms of the powertrain, the equipment utilizes YUCHAI’s high-efficiency flywheel range-extender system and a high-power electric motor, combined with an intelligent power management system. The system automatically adjusts power output based on pumping volume, driving conditions, and construction intensity, enabling coordinated operation between the range extender, electric motor, and battery.

Under low-load conditions, the equipment prioritizes pure electric mode to reduce energy consumption; under high-intensity conditions, the range extender and electric motor work in tandem to ensure stable power delivery. Additionally, the range extender is used solely for power generation rather than directly driving the vehicle, effectively reducing fuel consumption and achieving a balance between energy savings and high efficiency.

The YUCHAI YCY25 flywheel range-extender system features a coaxial integrated design, enabling deep coupling between the engine and electric motor, which optimizes system efficiency and reliability. Field test data shows that the concrete pump truck can achieve a range of 1,400.5 kilometers with a full tank of fuel and a fully charged battery, significantly alleviating range anxiety; operating costs are reduced by 30% to 75% compared to traditional fuel-powered concrete pump trucks. Furthermore, the equipment has achieved 84 consecutive days of stable operation, completing a cumulative total of 120,000 cubic meters of pumping operations, demonstrating outstanding reliability. The vehicle is eligible for a green license plate, exempting it from urban traffic restrictions and further enhancing operational flexibility.

This product launch represents a comprehensive breakthrough in range, cost, and reliability for concrete pump trucks. As YUCHAI’s range-extender technology matures across multiple sectors, this collaboration also marks the entry of pumping equipment electrification into a new phase of development.
