3As vital equipment for urban environmental maintenance, sanitation garbage trucks operate continuously in demanding conditions. To ensure vehicles remain in optimal working order, routine maintenance is crucial. Typically, maintenance for these trucks is divided into two main categories: external and internal. External maintenance covers areas such as the body paintwork, windshield wipers, and tires. Internal maintenance focuses on cleaning the cab and inspecting/cleaning critical components like fuel pump filters and fuel injector filters.
Only through standardized, consistent maintenance can stable vehicle operation and enhanced work efficiency be achieved. Below are the five fundamental principles for daily sanitation truck maintenance.

Body Waxing Maintenance
Body waxing is a crucial measure for protecting the paintwork. When selecting car wax, prioritize high-quality water-based wax. Compared to traditional oil-based or solid waxes, water-based wax offers superior adhesion, delivers greater gloss after cleaning, resists dust accumulation, and provides longer-lasting protection. Regular waxing effectively shields the paint and delays aging.
Proper Vehicle Washing
When washing your vehicle daily, use low-pressure water flow whenever possible. Avoid prolonged use of high-pressure water jets directly on the bodywork, as this can damage the paint finish.
Additionally, avoid using laundry detergent or dish soap to clean your vehicle. These cleaners are highly alkaline and, with prolonged use, can cause the paint to lose its luster or even develop cracks. It is recommended to use professional car wash detergents or specialized cleaning products to better protect the vehicle's surface.
Prioritize Cab Interior Cleaning
The cab environment directly impacts driver comfort and health. Over time, smoke residue, dust, sweat stains, and contaminants from the air circulation system accumulate inside the cab, degrading air quality and potentially fostering bacteria or unpleasant odors.
Therefore, regular cleaning and maintenance of the cab interior—including seats, floor mats, and trim surfaces—is essential. Timely vacuuming and washing help maintain a clean and comfortable cabin environment.
Scientific Cleaning Sequence
When cleaning the vehicle, follow the principle of “inside before outside, top before bottom” in a step-by-step approach. If the body has significant mud, first wipe away dirt with clean water or a damp cloth, then dry with a clean cloth. If dust is minimal, proceed directly to overall wiping. A logical cleaning sequence not only improves efficiency but also prevents secondary contamination.
Engine Compartment Cleaning and Inspection
When cleaning the engine compartment, increase water volume as needed to thoroughly rinse away dirt and debris. However, during this process, prevent water from entering electrical components, fuses, and other areas prone to rust or damage.
It is important to note that cleaning the engine compartment serves not only as a cleaning process but also as an opportunity to inspect the vehicle's condition. Through cleaning, you can promptly identify loose parts, leaks, or other potential issues, allowing for timely intervention.

Maintaining good upkeep habits is fundamental to ensuring the stable operation of sanitation waste collection vehicles. Regularly cleaning the body, maintaining the cab environment, and inspecting key components not only enhances vehicle performance but also extends equipment lifespan.
Standardized daily maintenance effectively boosts sanitation work efficiency, providing more reliable support for urban environmental hygiene operations.
