On October 15, during the “Vital China Research Tour” event held in Liuzhou, Guangxi, LIUGONG officially unveiled the 915FSE—the company’s first all-terrain excavator developed in-house. Featuring a design with four independent outriggers, the machine can adjust its support height according to terrain, making it suitable for complex operational scenarios such as flood control and emergency response, earthquake rescue, and forestry work on steep slopes.

On the same day, production data from LIUGONG’s smart excavator factory was also released. The factory produces one excavator every 12.5 minutes on average, demonstrating LIUGONG’s progress in smart manufacturing and large-scale production. From the R&D of specialized equipment to the construction of smart factories and the expansion into overseas markets, LIUGONG is continuously advancing product innovation and its global expansion.

1. The 915FSE All-Terrain Excavator Adapted for Complex Operating Environments

Traditional excavators may face challenges such as difficulty maneuvering and unstable support on soft ground, among rubble, and on steep slopes.

The LIUGONG 915FSE features a design with four independent outriggers, each of which can extend, retract, and adjust its height independently. This allows the machine to adapt its support configuration to changes in terrain, enhancing stability and maneuverability in complex terrain.

Chen Qiyao, Product Manager of LIUGONG’s Excavator Division, explained that the machine was independently developed by LIUGONG and is primarily designed for applications such as flood control, earthquake relief, and forestry operations on steep slopes, providing equipment support for emergency rescue efforts.

On September 28, a roll-off ceremony was held for both the 915FSE and LIUGONG’s 9400F ultra-large excavator. Designed for operations in complex terrain and large-scale mining construction, respectively, these two products reflect LIUGONG’s R&D focus across different application areas.

2. Smart Factory Enhances Production Efficiency and Quality Management

LIUGONG’s excavator smart factory is located in Shibiping Town, Northern Ecological New District, Liuzhou City. Through intelligent logistics, automated assembly, and digital inspection, the factory enhances production efficiency and product quality management.

During the production process, an intelligent automated warehouse handles material storage and sorting, while AGVs automatically transport materials to the corresponding workstations. Once the entire machine is assembled, the AI inspection system generates an inspection report within 10 minutes; the machine must achieve a score of 97 or higher to be accepted into inventory.

According to the factory, the production line automation rate exceeds 70%, supporting the co-production of different excavator models on the same line, with a monthly output exceeding 1,500 units. In March 2026, the factory produced 1,553 excavators in a single month, a year-over-year increase of 77.5%, setting a new record high.

The factory is also advancing green manufacturing through measures such as photovoltaic power generation, smart logistics, and AI-powered visual inspection, aiming to reduce volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions by 80% and cut annual carbon emissions by 15,800 metric tons.

3. Growth in Overseas Revenue Drives Business Restructuring

In the first half of 2026, LIUGONG generated 10.455 billion yuan in overseas revenue, a year-over-year increase of 22.66%, accounting for 50.57% of total revenue—exceeding domestic revenue for the first time. Overseas markets have become a key source of growth for LIUGONG’s business.

Currently, LIUGONG products are sold in more than 180 countries and regions, with over 500 dealers worldwide and more than 40 overseas subsidiaries. During the same period, the company’s sales in key regions—including Africa, the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Central Asia—all grew by more than 30% year-over-year.

In the field of electrification, LIUGONG has established an electric product portfolio covering 13 product lines and more than 100 models, with related equipment sold in over 60 countries and regions.

In 2025, LIUGONG’s gross profit margin for domestic operations was 15.75%, while that for overseas operations was 29.73%. The growth of overseas operations has further enhanced their importance within the company’s overall business.

4. From Product Exports to Localized Manufacturing and Services

LIUGONG is gradually improving its overseas production and service systems, driving the expansion of its global business toward localized operations.

In Indonesia, LIUGONG’s Green Smart Industrial Park is scheduled to begin production in the first half of 2027. The first phase of the project is planned to have a combined annual production capacity of 5,000 excavators and loaders, and it will incorporate the production processes, technical standards, and management systems of LIUGONG’s smart factories in China.

In terms of after-sales service, the “AI LIUGONG” intelligent diagnostic system, independently developed by LIUGONG, has already been deployed in Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam. According to the company, this system has reduced the average repair time for overseas equipment by 60%. Additionally, LIUGONG has partnered with educational institutions to jointly establish 12 International Craftsman Academies along the “Belt and Road” route to train local technical talent.

According to LIUGONG’s 15th Five-Year Plan, the company aims to achieve operating revenue exceeding 60 billion yuan by 2030, with overseas revenue accounting for more than 60% of the total. Moving forward, LIUGONG will continue to advance product R&D, smart manufacturing, overseas production, and the development of localized service systems, driving the construction machinery business toward intelligent, green, and international development.
